Silver
Star Ski Camp 2011
Saturday
November 26th to Sunday December 4th
8 nights / 9 skiing days - $1100
Join me
in late November for a Masters training camp on the
beautiful and fun trails of Silverstar and Sovereign Lakes.
Whether you plan to join me for the American Birkebeiner,
compete in the Canadian Birkebeiner or just want to immerse
yourself into the world of Nordic skiing, I will have 9
days of long distance base training, technique, intensity
sessions, ski work and waxing. I will continue the emphasis
on long distance loppet racing including
planned group discussion on waxing strategies, feeding
strategies, pre loppet training ideas and of course the
mental highs and lows of a 50 km+ race.
Camp
includes
•
8 nights in a
cozy condo right up on the hill where skiing is only a
short walk or drive away based on double occupancy.
•
trail fees for both
Silverstar and Sovereign Lakes trail systems
• small group
technique coaching
and
video analysis
•
wax clinics
•
Chance to watch the latest International ski races on DVD
and video
•
Hot tub awaiting
your return from our long skis
• CH/LF glide wax for training
• Heated
waxing garage
Camp starts 1 pm on Saturday November 26 and finishes 11am
on Sunday Dec 4. Just like the last couple years there will
only be 1 camp and it will be planned as a
Masters
Training Camp. While
this 8 night camp does include video technique sessions,
the main focus is on long distance training, special
intensity workouts, extra-special double pole and legs only
strength sessions, no hold-barred downhill technique
extravaganza’s and a timetrial to help prepare for
the season ahead.
This year with the main group focus being the American
Birkebeiner there will be some extra work on offset
technique for those short but steep climbs plus a workout
where we will practice group skiing and strategies and for
the classic skiers double-pole workouts will be emphasized.
In effect for this camp due to feedback from previous years
campers
1.
No meals
will be provided so it’s up to you to make your own,
eat in the village or form a group with like-minded eaters.
2.
I will
have smaller group technique video sessions allowing me to
work with each individual a little more both during the
technique session and later in the early evening watching
the video. While I am doing a technique session with one
group the rest of the camp skiers will be given specific
workouts to do based on the their goals for the upcoming
ski season.
The groups will be broken up based on your skiing goals
this season.
Ie skate
race goals vs classic race goal or no race goals…
3.
CH
training glide wax is included reducing the amount of wax
you need to bring with you. You should still bring your own
fancy waxes, scrapers, brushes etc…
4.
AC Tosh
and Jo Jo are taking a year off from working the camp.
Thanks to Sean for all his work over the last few years and
Jo Jo for keeping the skiers in good shape for the
workouts. Currently I will be running the camp solo like
the good old days but I may add an AC as we get
closer.
Confirmation
of participation can be done by emailing me to let me know
